I’m a marketing specialist. I’ve worked in the marketing departments of some big blue chip companies, including Boots, The AA and British Gas. My background is in local marketing and communications.

I grew up in the beautiful West of Scotland with my three sisters and a menagerie of pets. After university I headed ‘Down South’ in search of my fortune. To cut a long story short I began designing brochures and newsletters for Explore, a small adventure tour company and managed to visit a fair few of my ‘bucket list’ countries all in the name of product research! (well you can’t write about a place unless you’ve been there, right?).

I then moved to The AA in Basingstoke working firstly in their Publishing department and later on in Hotel Services – heading up the business development team and managing to bag some pretty amazing restaurant visits while accompanying inspectors on their rounds. Tough job but someone had to do it!

From there I moved on to Boots, managing promotional campaigns in their healthcare category. I’ve written leaflets about things I’d really rather not know about…

My last role was with British Gas in Staines, with BG I managed the local marketing and digital presence for a network of plumbing and drains franchises. This essentially meant being the marketing contact for 40+ small, family run businesses. The product research for them was a great deal smellier.

And finally, I worked in the Operational Comms team writing letters to energy customers, transforming old, outdated templates into new, empathetic and relatable versions.

So, I’ve been working for medium and large companies for most of my career, and have met some amazing and inspirational people along the way. I’m well used to working within strict corporate brand guidelines and using creativity to create stunning artwork for various purposes.

I now want to be around more for my family and to use my wealth of creative experience to help small businesses to achieve their goals.
